Testing Windows Live Writer...

And no, I haven't forgotten about Part 3 of Delphi 2007 in a Radical Build! :)

I've been a bit overwhelmed in some work and non-work issues, but I'll get back to it in a couple days. I also have another interesting post on using Delphi to develop Office Add-ins in a very easy way, so those two posts will be available in a few days, start of next week at most.

As the title says, I'm writing this post using Windows Live Writer, after seeing it mentioned in this blog post from Steve Trefethen.

Also, for no good reason other than test Windows Live Writer, here's a picture of my 6 month old daughter...

That's all for now, but stay tuned...

Fernando,

So .... how are you liking it so far? I've been looking for something, anything but the default blogger editor. Gosh it's horrible. I'd actually gone looking for Steve's post a couple of days ago and ... got distracted somewhere on DelphiFeeds - which is easy to do.
At any rate, I'm having a squint and like it so far but there are a few quirks [like Labels] that I'd like to see in it.

I notice your images are being stored on blogger, didn't know that was possible ... I'll have to look into it.

Cute baby, reminds me of when mine [11, 14 & 28 now - all girls] were that age :)

Ahhh, your images aren't being stored on blogger at all [sigh], I'll have to come up with something - can't get Live Writer to work with Picasa.

Thanks both: not only is she pretty (;)), she's also very quiet: her mother still is surprised that, when she wakes up in the middle of the night after some 6~8 hours sleep, she stays there quiet and doesn't start crying, even though it's feed time again! :)

As for Windows Live Writer, I have a mixed feeling about it: for one, it's far easier to handle images than in blogger, and even with the inconvenient of having to host them elsewhere, it's still more pratical. However, this same advantage also plays as a disadvantage: it looks, but I'll have to dig a bit more on it, that it chooses a fixed size for the large version on the image, which, even though it is ok for my personal blog, is surely not ok for a technical blog where resizing print-screens may turn them unreadable...

I'll have to test a bit more...
